Since I was a kid, I unknowingly could recognize and was keenly attracted to the sweet smooth sound of a major 7th chord in music. From Archie Bells and the Drells to Curtis Mayfield to Chaka Khan, I didn't know until later what the sound was but it's been a lifelong friend through music since the very beginning.
